A discussion with Ken Blanchard, Professor of Political Science, Northern State University, about Darwin and Declaration. Blanchard defends the view that the Declaration’s argument about equality and natural rights is compatible with Darwinian natural science. He argues that the claims of both “social Darwinists” and natural rights advocates are based on misunderstandings of Darwin and the development of his ideas by contemporary biologists.
